Project: Position Discovery Type: ✨ Enhancement User: 💁🏻♀️ People
Key changes
- Streamlined search: dynamic filter controls and suggested filters make it easier to refine and update search results instantly
- Enhanced navigation: multi-select filters with search functionality enhance usability and accessibility
Why?
In June, we released a series of new features designed to streamline your job search, making it quicker and easier to find relevant positions and apply. Since the release, we’ve been working on the usability of search so that it’s more intuitive and simple to to add more filters and narrow down what you’re looking for.
What?
- Dynamic filter controls
- Users can now change a filter by clicking directly on the filter tag
- A dropdown menu will appear with filter controls, allowing users to remove or update the selected filters effortlessly
- Changing the filters will instantly update the search results
- Suggested filters
- Users will see suggested filters when starting their search with either job title or skill filter
- Suggested filters for job title search: Location, Remote preference, Experience level, Skills, Salary
- Suggested filters for skill search: Location, Remote preference, Job title, Experience level, Salary
- Navigation and usability improvements:
- The sorting dropdown has been moved next to the notifications icon for better accessibility
- Multi-select filters now come with a search bar, improving the user experience in finding specific options
- All selected checkboxes will appear at the top of the list so it’s easier to see what you’ve already selected
- Hover interaction is enabled for all checkbox options to enhance usability.
- The salary filter is now a slider, making it more intuitive and easier to update the minimum expected salary on a search
- The location filter visualises locations more clearly and allows for multiple locations to be selected
The result: searching is now smoother than ever on cord!
How?
A team effort from the Position Discovery Squad. Thanks to Jiyeon (Senior Front End Engineer) for spearheading the project on the front end!
What’s next?
Next we’ll be adding a remote location filter, which enables users to find positions that are remote in a specific continent.
