📋 Loop 13 ‘24

New updates and improvements.

This loop is tech loop, which is an opportunity for each of the guilds (Front End, Back End, Data, Product/UI/UX) to focus on longer-term projects on the tech roadmap. We don’t work on any features during a tech loop.

Here’s what some of the team got up to:

Asta, Senior Back Developer

I have been working on reducing the database size in the development account to enable us to save money by operating smaller instances. More efforts are needed to completely achieve this goal, but hopefully, the major challenges have been addressed. Transitioning to OpenSearch will also support this objective, as it will eventually allow us to eliminate heavy duty operations related to candidate search and the listing vector view.

My focus has been getting everything ready for this biquarter, when we’ll kick off our new projects and feature work. This involves doing discovery work and planning so that by the end of the loop we have a roadmap for the next 4-6 weeks. I ran a discovery session to understand how we could improve the self-serve demo so that prospects book a call with the Sales team (and go on to use cord!). This was a cross-team session, and the result was 30+ brilliant ideas. After this, I worked with Tom and Katerina to prioritise all of the ideas based on the impact and effort. Finally, I created a new project on Linear to add all of the ideas we’ll be working on, and added the requirements. We’ll kick off feature work on Monday. Katerina has been designing a new application tracking feature for candidates, so I have set up calls with users next week to run prototype testing. The testing enables us to see how intuitive the feature is and gather any feedback before we start the build.
