🤨 Discourage mismatch applications
Candidates who don’t match requirements are now discouraged from messaging
Project: Repositioning cord Type: 🚀 Feature User: 🤝 All users
Key changes
- Clearer warning message to candidates when there is a mismatch between their profile and the position.
- Candidates who do not match the visa requirements for a position are prevented from messaging.
Why?
There are instances on cord where people who are not suited for a position will still apply to it. This impacts the value companies get since the relevancy and quality of applications is affected, and at the same time makes it harder for companies to use cord as they have to go through irrelevant applications to keep their response rate 100% and continue getting value.
What?
The warning message for the job criteria the candidate doesn't match has become more clear and prominent, supporting salary comparisons as well. Similarly, if a person tries to apply to a position which has nothing in common with, a red warning box will appear to discourage them from sending a message and prompting them to check their profile instead.
Finally, candidates who require a visa will no longer be able to apply to positions that can't sponsor them, instead they'll be prompted to find positions that can.
When following the "Find positions that sponsor" link, candidates will be taken to a new search with all their current filters in place and an additional filter for visa sponsorship available.
How?
Thanks to Andrés (FE Lead) for building this feature 🏗️
What’s next?
As the market changes and the trend is an increase in inbound applications, giving companies more control over who they’d like to allow to apply - or not - will be one of our focusses in upcoming loops. While this feature prevents companies from receiving applications due to a visa mis-match, future enhancements will allow the company to choose the criteria they require a match with.
